San Diego Superior Court to Expand Business Office Hours on July 11, 2016

After reducing service hours in 2012 San Diego Superior Court is expanding service hours, reopening business offices on Friday afternoons and expanding hours beginning Monday, July 11th, 2016.

The court’s business counters in the Criminal, Civil, Family, Probate, Juvenile, and Traffic Courts will be open Monday through Friday until 4:00PM.

“Now that our budget has stabilized and we have the ability to replace employees who leave the court or retire,” says Executive Officer Michael Roddy, “our first priority is to ensure the public can get access to our business offices to help in getting their legal issues addressed. There were few worse things than seeing a frustrated member of the public show up at the courthouse to take care of a legal matter on a Friday afternoon and find the offices closed.”

During the reduced service hours, people had to use drop boxes for filing papers or submitting payments on Fridays. Now that business service hours are being expanded, drop boxes will still be available after 4pm.

The court’s hours and holidays are available on the court’s website.
