As of November 2, 2015, mandatory E-Filing for Probate cases will go into effect in the San Francisco Superior Court for all cases involving attorneys. Electronic filing will remain an option for non-parities and self-represented parties who wish to file electronically.
The announcement was made by Court Executive Officer T. Michael Yuen on September 30, 2015. This change reflects part of a larger ongoing program of phasing in probate cases to E-Filing which began in July 2013. The vendor supporting the expansion is File and ServeXpress is the vendor supporting the expanded access.

It is important to note that once the initial pleadings are filed by an attorney, all subsequent pleadings will be subject to mandatory electronic filing. For those estate cases which have already been opened, mandatory E-Filing begins on November 2, 2015.
