Barstow Courthouse to Resume Full Services in October 2015

San Bernardino Superior Court started offering reduced services in the midst of the budget crises (May of 2013). Now that funding has been restored the court is set to resume full service hours on October 13, 2015.

The Barstow courthouse will be opening two full-time courtrooms and keeping the clerk’s office open full-time Monday through Friday. All small claims, landlord tenant and infraction matters from Victorville will be heard in Barstow. This will allow the Victorville courthouse to expand its operations. Additionally, all traffic and non-traffic infraction citations from Needles will also be heard in Barstow.

These changes mirror those of the Fontana district and create county-wide consistency of operational efficiencies.

Enhanced services will be offered throughout San Bernardino County as funding becomes available. Christina Volker, the Court Executive Officer, says “the court hopes to offer more services in the Needles area and the county’s mountain communities—two areas where access to the court has been significantly reduced due to budget constraints.”
